We answer the most frequently asked questions regarding our areas of work, which can be related to more than one service.
How long does it take?
Since each project is unique, we can’t know for sure how long yours will take until we know a little bit more about it. Contact us to let us know which service/s you need and your project’s main characteristics and we’ll get back to you with a custom quote and estimated time.
Which languages do you work with?
We work mainly with English and Spanish. For services in other languages, please contact us.
Will my project's contents remain confidential?
We understand the importance of confidentiality regarding your project’s contents and we’ll keep them private through the whole process.
My contents are context-sensitive.
When you send us your documents, you can add all the information you think is necessary (through emails or on the file itself). We’ll still be in touch constantly; we like to get our clients’ feedback to know what they need and want to convey.

How long does a translation take? What’s the difference between translating and localizing? We solve your doubts about this service.
How much does a translation cost?
On our Translation page, you’ll see our general rates per word to get a rough idea. However, there are many other factors to take into account, such as the type of document (website, literary, technical), its length, the urgency for its delivery… each project is unique!
That’s why at Speakabit we calculate estimates based on each project and the service/s you need, since it is often more than one.

What kind of files can I send?
We work with plain text and all kinds of formats. You can send your texts in Microsoft Word documents (.doc, .docx), LibreOffice (.odt), Excel, PDF archives and many other formats.
If you’re not sure about your documents’ formats, just get in touch.
Are your translations certified?
No, because most translations we work with (corporate, literary, marketing) do not need to be certified by a sworn translator. This is usually required for official documents.
What's the difference between translating and localizing?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions! In the first case, we translate without “localizing” but what does it mean to localize? It includes adapting the content for its target audience, usually for a particular area or region. It’s not the same to translate into Spanish for Spain, Mexico or Argentina. Localisms, currencies, etc. are adapted so recipients find themselves as comfortable as possible with the text.
A great example of the need for localization is found in the video game market, but many apps and websites focused on a country or audience in particular use this method to improve their results.
For more information, please take a look at our Localization page.
Questions and answers related to our Spanish personal tutor services, both in-person and online.
What kind of Spanish will I learn?
We work with the main varieties of Spanish (from Spain and Latin America). We adapt your classes depending on your needs.
What do I need for the classes?
For online tutoring, you’ll need a strong internet connection, a microphone and a webcam.
What Spanish level do I need?
We work with students with different levels, from beginners to advanced. However, we recommend an intermediate level for our Total Immersion service.
What's total immersion?
Total immersion is the most effective way to learn. You’ll feel “immersed” in the language and will achieve maximum results in the shortest amount of time. More info on its page.
Where can I take the Total Immersion course?
For now, our Total Immersion service is held in the city of Valencia, Spain, where you’ll be able to enjoy a city tour while you improve your Spanish!
